My brother George was a sophmore at North Eastern University when he enlisted in the Army. Roosevelt promised the boys if they enlisted they would go to ASPT and after that, would have one year of Infantry training before going overseas. He lied, my brother and other students who enlisted were shipped overseas after two months of training. As a result, many were killed in the battle of the Bulge, including my brother. My brother was a good person, one of six children, with auburn curly hair.
