In 1938 at age 23 Morris started as a Junior File clerk in the Albany Central Office of the Bureau of Motor Vehicles in the Department of Taxation & Finance. Thru 1940's & 1950's he earned promotions to Senior, Principal, Head Clerk and finally Department Supervisor for safety in 1957. In 1960, he became the Director of the White Plains D.O. Served briefly as Bronx Director in 1961 before becoming District Director in Queens. Served in that post until 1966 when he became Director of Downstate Field Operations. Active in JWV, Queens Council Boy Scouts, Queens County Community Planning Board. Has a wife Clara and two daughters: Audrey and Judith.
