David Selman MD

Selman David was born in Spring Valley, NY. Graduated second in his class from Cornell University. At that time Cornell Medical School did not accept Jewish students, so with his brother's help he earned his medical degree in Dublin Ireland.
For half a century he was a Cardiologist on the staff of the Nyack Hospital in NY. Dr. Selman made 7 trips to Israel, the last one in 2001 with the Federation Mission, as well as to Finland, Poland, Russia and Lithuania, the birthplace of his parents.
A life long member of the Jewish War Veterans Post #425 and Post #756. He enlisted on the 7th of July, 1942 and was discharged on March 26, 1946, with the rank of Captain, with the 147 General Hospital.
