Joseph Swesnik entered the U.S. Army on December 30, 1941,and served honorably until December 10, 1945. After basic training, Joseph was assigned to the Blue Devils Division. Because of his educational background he was assigned to headquarters as a clerk. He eventually was promoted to sergeant. The Blue Devils saw action in Italy. He was awarded the American Campaign Medal, the European-African Middle East Medal, and the Victory Medal WWII. Served: U.S. Army WWII Rank: Sergeant JWV: Charter member of the Lt. Arthur Gertenberg Post 398 in 1946. Elected post Quartermaster.
