Joseph David Janus --A Man of Honor and Love--He was born in Ostrov, Poland, December 10, 1922. He arrived in the United States from the Yeshiva of Rabbi Jacob Joseph in New York. He then enrolled in the Central Needle trade school graduating Valedictorian. In 1942, he enlisted in the army signal corps and was honorably discharged in 1946. He was a charter member of the Capt. Howard K. Goodman Post, Bronx, NY and upon moving to Long Island transferred to Stein-Goldie Post 552. He was Commander in 1956 and then D.E.C. of New York until he moved to Hallandale, FL where he was very active in Fransblau Post 177 until his death. Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather.
