David Moskowitz was born on August 15, 1882 in Jassy, Roumania. His father was Rachmel Moskowitz(born in Russia). His mother was Golda Moskowitz (Nee) Greenberg (born in Russia).He had one brother (name unknown) and two sisters,Celia and Anna. He came to the United States on March 28, 1905 aboard the Ryndam out of rotterdam, South Holland, the Netherlands. He worked in the garment center as a tailor. He sang in the choir with the Cantor in the Lower East Side Roumanian Synagogue. He married Mary Levinson in 1911. He had twelve children. Rudy(Wife Ann),Molly(Husband Ben, 2 children Marsha and Davida, 5 grandchldren), Elsye(Husband Sam, 2 children David and Cynthia), Anna(husband Joe, 3 children, 6 grandchildren) Bess(husbands Hank and Irving, 3 children, 4 grandchildren, Gloria(husband Arthur, 2 children, 2 grandchildren), Edward (twin, wife Rosiland, 3 children, 5 grandchildren),Faye (twin, Down Syndrom), Pearl(husband Robert, 1 child,Paul(wife Shirley, 2 children, 2 grandchildren), Arthur(wife Myrna, 1 child), Barbara(husband Joseph, 2 children, 1 grandchild. He had 21 grandchildren and 23 great grandchildren. He passed away on October 19, 1942. He was 60 years old.
