Donald Rothman

Donald Rothman was inducted into the Army on Feb. 27, 1943, just two weeks after graduating from High School. He was an automotive mechanic and served in New Guinea and the Philippines. He reenlisted and served until 1949, attaining the rank of PFC. He received the Philippine Liberation Ribbon, American Theater, Asiatic-Pacific Theater W/2 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct, Meritorious Unit Award, and WWII Victory Medal.
He was Commander of Post 712 and Post 44 in Cleveland, Ohio. He was a Life Member of JWV, was on the National Membership Board and was named a National Recruiter. He attended several National conventions.
He and his wife Elsie were married in 1950. They were married 37 years and had a daughter, Susan, and son, Alan. Two years following Elsie’s death, Don married Bernice and they were married 22 years. He also leaves 5 grandchildren and 3 great-grandsons.
