Sheldon was born in the Bronx, N.Y. on Aug. 22, 1923. He served in the Navy during the Korean War, before attending City College of New York for an engineering degree. Prior to retiring, he worked as a professional engineer at Picatinny Arsenal for 35 years. Sheldon was an active and devoted member of both the White Meadow Lake Temple and the Habad Center. He was also an active member and chaplain of the Jewish War Veterans. Sheldon enjoyed playing tennis, sailing, and being active in his local community. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 45 years, Ruth Blaustein. He is survived by three sons, Alan Blaustein and his wife, Carol, of Livingston, N.J.; Randy Blaustein and his wife, Rochelle, of Bethesda, Md., and Robert Blaustein of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. He had three grandchildren, Leslie of Murray, Ky., Frank of Fort Worth, Texas, and Sarah of Wantage, N.J. He also had six great-grandchildren.
