Frieda Weinstein, nicknamed Fritzi by family and friends, was married for 52 years to Ben, who predeceased her. She is survived by PNC Ed and Iris Goldwasser, Alan and Judi Weinstein, Howard and Ilene Schneider, 7 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Fritzi was a charitable woman who believed in aiding those less fortunate, was a firm believer in the State of Israel and supported several charities there. She was a long-time member of the National Museum of American Jewish Military History. Fritzi crocheted afghans for the hospitalized veterans and the Ronald McDonald Houses. Every annual JWVA convention these afghans would be distributed to these groups. At 103 years she contributed 30 afghans alone. She was a very creative person and in her retirement learned to paint and left an array of landscapes and still-life paintings. Fritzi also wrote poetry and prolific letters to the editors of local newspapers when she disagreed with public policy and many were actually published.
