Nathan Kushel

Nathan Kushel was born in Brooklyn in 1918, the son of Charles & Bessie Kushel. A graduate of New Utrecht High School, he enlisted in the Army in 1940. He attended Officer Candidate School at Ft. Monmouth and entered the Signal Corps. He opened and ran supply depots in Cherbourg and Yvetot. After the war, he served in the Army Reserve, reaching the rank of Lt. Colonel until his retirement in 1978. He was president of Turberg Press in NYC. He was married to Sylvia Turberg for 31 years living in Fair Lawn, N.J., where they raised their two children, Ilene and Paul. After she passed away he was married to Sylvia Galek for 30 years and spent his retirement in Delray Beach, FL until his death in 2010. He was a sweet gentle giant who was loved by all who knew him.
