Thomas E. Snyder, a retired U.S. Army Lieutenant Colonel, served our country for 24 years, 20 years as a commissioned officer. Lt. Col. Snyder served military duty for the Iron Curtain crisis (1961), Korea (1965) and Vietnam (1969-70). Tom received several medals during his tenure of army service, including the Legion of Merit. Lt. Col. Snyder's focus of military service was procurement contracts such as food for Apollo 8. After retiring from the military, Tom worked for defense contractors. He worked in procurement for the American company in Tel Aviv that was building the Israeli Airbase in the Negev Desert. Then he worked for Texas Instruments on contracts for the HARM missile. Lt. Col. Snyder devoted over 10 years of his retirement to RV travels, including trips with family. Survivors: wife of 52 years, Janet of Las Vegas, NV; eldest son, Charles Snyder and wife, Leah, of Fort Worth, TX; daughter, Miriam Kaikov and husband, Roni, of Arlington, TX; youngest son, David Snyder and wife, Woinishet, of Las Vegas, NV; and grandchildren, Mordecai Kaikov, Avraham Kaikov, Edmund Snyder, Emanuel Kaikov, Zeleke Snyder, and Deva Snyder.
