January 13, 1919
to
October 2, 1944
Joseph H. Quencas was born in New York City. At the time of his enlistment in the Army, he had graduated from City College. My brother came from a family whose father and mother immigrated to the U.S. from Greece. My brother was sent to a bombardier school where he graduated in 1943 and was sent to England. He flew over the European area in a B52 bomber. HE flew 32 missions and was sent home for R&R. In 1944 he was on a routine training flight in Midland, TX, when the aircraft crashed and all on board were killed. He was an exceptionally loving son and brother. May his soul rest in peace.
