Lois Jane Yurman

Sivan 3, 5751

December 5, 1947 to May 15, 1991

Lois Jane beloved daughter of Ruth and Max Yurman was born in Kearny, New Jersey on December 5, 1947 and when she died, May 15, 1991 she never had a day in her life without physical problems. She lived through dozens of operations and spent many sessions in various hospitals and other medical care for most of her 3 years. Yet in spite of her health she was able to make an incredible contribution to the family and the Jewish War Veterans. She was independent and assertive knew what she wanted and went after her desires with passion and purpose. Her formal education had withered under the archaic local school system. However to her credit and perseverance and with a slight handicap she was able to achieve literacy, common sense and a wonderful sense of humor. She was a loyal dedicated member of JWVA of Sanford L. Kahn Post, Kearny, New Jersey. Her strong desire to overcome her physical obstacles caused her to participate in all Auxiliary functions. She attended the hospital parties at Lyons Va. and marched in the annual Memorial Day Parade. We realize the precious gift we had been given when she was gone.
