Irving Anton (Isidore Isaac) beloved Husband of Josephine Anton, Father of Audrey Scharf, Steven Anton and Barbara Maniscalco and Grandfather of Michael and Paul Scharf, Rachel and David Anton and Ilea and Jamie Maniscalco.
His sense of humor brightened many of our days. His homemade games such as "Bourcha" always made us laugh. He was an amazing musician as well. He paid his way through Law School playing the drums in local nightclubs and helping his father paint apartments. But his musical abilities did not stop with the drums; he could play any musical instrument like the piano, wind instruments and others all by ear. When Uncle Sam called him on January 1, 1943 at the age of 35, he served honorably as an M.P. until his discharge on January 1, 1945. After his discharge, although offered a position as an Attorney in the State Insurance Fund in N.Y.C., he chose to go into business. As a depression attorney earlier, he cared too much for his clients. A fee of $25.00 payable at $5.00 a month was not unusual. He started in business selling nuts and bolts and anything available after the war. This evolved into an Office Equipment Business still run by his son. He is sorely missed by his Family and Friends.
Served from January 1, 1943 to January 1, 1945
