Dr. Bernard Weiner of San Antonio, Texas passed away November 8, 2012 at the age of 83. After graduating from Indiana University Medical School in 1953, he interned at Methodist Hospital, Gary, Indiana. He proudly served his country in the US Air Force from August 4, 1954 through his service in the Reserves ending on July 1, 1960. He completed his service as Captain. Dr. Weiner was assigned to McChord Air Force Base, Tacoma, Washington. He served as Mortuary Officer, Officer in Charge of Outpatient Care, and Officer in Charge of Physical Therapy. He also had the duty of flying around to radar sites scattered over the western United States and Canada where he held sick call. Another assignment was acting division surgeon. He completed his service at Lackland AFB, San Antonio, where he and his wife Marcia settled. Dr. Weiner was a Family Doctor and Geriatrician for over fifty years and retired from private practice in 2010.
