My parents were Isadore and Fannie Eisenberg who raised eight children, I being the youngest. At the age of 22, I married my wife Eleanor R. Harrison on June 23, 1946. Unfortunately she died on August 19, 1989. I have two children Sheri Geller and David Eisenberg, six grandchildren and one great granddaughter. In recent years my life has been filled by my significant other, Mrs. Marie Levine, my best friend. My activity in JWV started in 1946 when I joined the Harold Freidman Post in Chicago. In 1955 I helped organize the Morton Grove Post 700. I was elected Department Commander of Illinois in 1955. During 1956 I initiated the organizing of the Combined Veterans Association. I was elected the Commander of the CVA in 1958. The Morton Grove Matlin Post 700 merged in with Post 800 and I have been a member of the Perlman-Matlin Post 800 since. My military service in the Navy Seabees was from May 1943-April 1946. I was stationed on Toulagi Island with the rank of 1st Class Petty Officer.
