Raymond was born in Milwaukee, WI and was drafted into the U.S. Army in June of 1941 and served until November of 1945. He was stationed in England until 1945. On January 31, 1942 Ray and Geraldine A Zywiche were married. After being discharged in 1945, he went to work for Wisconsin Electric until 1971 where he was struck by 50,000 volts. During surgery the doctors had to revive him three times. He did recover, but he was not the same person and unfortunately died of cancer in April 1971.
